Five summers ago, Springvale evaluated the purpose of running their Adventure Camp (VBS) program. Four key outcomes were determined: 1. Evangelism 2. Discipleship of their own kids 3. Serving opportunities for the congregation and 4. Leadership development of their student leaders. As a result they have intentionally invested in these areas and have seen God really bless the ministry, especially when it comes to the development of their student leaders. When trained and equipped, given accountability, purpose and responsibility, they started to take ownership of their role in the bigger church family. God has used this partnership between the home and the church to strengthen a child and youth's understanding of who He is and how He made them.
Faithway Baptist, Woodstock
Faithway hosted a soccer camp run by Coaching for Christ from Northern Ireland. A team of eight people came to Canada for two weeks to run soccer camps. The team was made up of 5 highly qualified coaches and three volunteers. This brought a great sense of quality to the soccer camp in the community. Faithway had 42 kids in total each day, with 80% of them coming from non-churched homes. The running of the camp and the impact it made on the community was impressive. The coaching was excellent and the Gospel was presented in a great way. The camp opened a door to Woodstock's local soccer club and the church is excited to see what's in store for next year.
