For over a year the Regional Board has been working fervently on a visionary plan to reignite our movement. We do dream of a day when we recapture the oneness we had at our inception. We do dream of a day when all of our churches will be Spirit-led, thriving, and reproducing churches. After much prayer and work, the proposal (which is still in draft form) to help us accomplish such dreams has materialized and it's called; 'Stronger Together.'
Good leaders are those who continue to learn and grow as a leader. Your FEB Central staff team want to help you "Stay Strong and Live Long" as you give leadership in your local expression of the bride of Christ. Over the next ministry year, beginning in September, we are providing a number of quality Equipping Events for you and volunteer ministry leaders in your church. Healthy, growing churches are led by healthy, growing leaders. We encourage you and volunteer leaders from your church to take advantage of these equipping opportunities.
There has been lots of activity in FEB Central Church Planting since Regional Conference. Near the end of April we were able to take many of our church planters to Exponential 2013. This is the world's largest and most diverse church planting conference. Our planters are exposed to great teaching, excellent networking opportunities and many creative approaches to consider as they seek to establish their new ministries here in FEB Central. There were close to 6000 in attendance at the conference.
Some 110 pastors gathered in Muskoka for our annual Pastor's Conference. This is always a great time away from our regular ministry duties to enjoy fellowship, worship, the Word, fun activities and great food in a beautiful setting.
We were blessed by our time of worship, led by Pastor Darren Johnson of New Life Fellowship in Innisfil. John Neufeld, pastor of Willingdon Church in Burnaby, taught us from the first chapter of Philippians.
WMI exists "to equip and encourage women to grow deeper in their spiritual journey for effective leadership". On June 8, 2013, our 6th class of women graduated from the Women's Ministries Institute. What a delight and joy to see these dear 17 women finish well after 9 months of study and hard work.
In the ministry of Connected Women, it has been a good year! Back in 2012, a Networking Day was held in Ajax and a number of women who met there connected after the event to encourage one another. Two in particular have since begun to minister together on retreats designed to encourage women to draw close to the Lord and to be still before Him. Jenn Martin, one of the two, wrote to me recently to mention that they are in this ministry together because of Connected Women. Jenn has since joined one of my teams and spoke at two networking days this past spring where she encouraged women in ministry! I am thankful for the women who work with me and pray for me in my desire to see women connecting, communicating, and encouraging one another in ministry.
