Our New Home
We’re just six weeks into our new location here at Heritage College and Seminary and it already feels like home. I would readily agree with the comment that many are saying; ‘we should have done this years ago.’
There are so many benefits – let me highlight just a few.
The facilities – Our offices and the new renovations, inside and out, are appealing and readily accessible. They add to our credibility as a ministry and because of our convienient location make ‘dropping in’ for our constituency a reality. At a recent Heritage Open House/Fund Raising dinner, we had many pastors, alumni, and supporters of the school take the tour.
The students - Simply being part of the community of our future leaders and walking with them in their journey is deeply refreshing. Getting to know them helps connecting them to opportunities to serve in our local churches. Implementing internships for our local churches and church planting becomes easier.
The staff and faculty – We deeply appreciate their commitment to training our next generation of ministry leaders. Having them ‘across the hall’ is a great resource for us and enhances our ability to work together toward this great purpose. We value them and view them as an integral part of our team.
The opportunities for events – Heritage can become host to many meetings and training opportunities. Just last month, partnering with Miller Thomson, we had almost 100 pastors and church leaders meet here for a Risk Management seminar. Heritage will be our venue for Regional Conference (April 10/11) and the Gospel Coalition Conference (May 29-31). In a variety of ways, the campus will be our rallying point and help us accomplish equipping and resourcing goals for our churches.
Yes - we are thrilled to be in our new home! We praise the Lord for this strategic alignment that multiplies our kingdom effectiveness.
Let me leave you with some prayer requests.
- Pray for Janice, Godfrey, Tom, and I, as we continue to settle in.
- Pray for the sale of 38 Grand Ave. S. (former offices). We have accepted an offer, and if conditions are met, closing would be the end of November.
- Pray for grace and wisdom as we work toward gaining wider church financial support.
Thank you for partnering with us in this amazing journey of faith.
Bob Flemming - Regional Director
