Dear Pastors and Leaders,
On April 27-28 FEB Youth once again hosted the Youth Ministry Summit. Two hundred youth pastors and youth leaders from across Ontario gathered for two days of being equipped, encouraged, and celebrated.
The event featured five main sessions and two breakout sessions spread over two days. Breakout sessions covered topics from ministering in a small church setting to the impacts of pornography use on our students. Main stage sessions focused on celebrating and encouraging our youth workers. Each main session featured worship, lead by Andrew Sherlock from Temple Baptist in Sarnia, and a keynote speaker. Our speakers included Jeremy Best (FEB Youth Director), Jeff Borton (Next Gen Pastor at Longhollow Baptist in Henderson, Tennessee), Alyssa Esparaz (Compassion), Sid Koop (Truth Matters Ministries), and Steve McCready (Lead Pastor, Faith St Thomas).
There’s a certain energy in the room when it’s filled with youth workers - there’s lots of laughter, fun, and a bit of craziness. Working with students is a ministry that is emotionally and spiritually taxing. Our youth leaders - paid and volunteer - go unappreciated far too often. It was so good to pour some life back into them for a couple of days – to remind them that they are not alone, that they are making an impact, and that God is so pleased by what they’re doing.
If your team missed out on joining us - make sure to get them there next year!
Jeremy Best, FEB Central Youth Director
