NFB - Madoc Baptist Church

"We trust that God is able to do what He says He will do."
Pastor Harry Toews of Madoc Baptist Church (MBC) is pleased to announce the opening of their new ministry centre, a project that was 10 years in the making.

MBC is located in cottage country, partway between Toronto and Ottawa. The church has undergone many changes since they began as a house church 50 years ago. Their congregation met in a rented facility for more than 25 years, and briefly considered amalgamating with another church when attendance dipped significantly. But MBC believed that God had called them to be a witness in Madoc, so they bought an old Wesleyan church and continued serving their community.

More than seven years ago MBC stepped out in faith. They sold their church, paid cash for two acres of land, and began to pray about their next steps. Their prayers and planning came to fulfillment when, on April 1, 2018, MBC held their inaugural service in their new ministry centre.

Throughout the time of construction, MBC had the opportunity to connect with many people from the community, some of whom have begun attending as a result.

Pastor Harry is quick to give God all the glory for MBC's story. He says, "God honours His Word. For churches, being a light in our communities requires us to remain faithful to God's Word, and to allow Him to act in His time. We trust that God is able to do what He says He will do."
