Flamborough Baptist Celebrates in a Big Way!

Dear Friends,

On Sunday, June 10, Flamborough Baptist Church, Waterdown, celebrated its 109th anniversary. What made the day extra special was the groundbreaking ceremony that followed. Twenty years earlier, Pastors Steve Baxter and John Roberts stood at the same location holding the same “golden” shovel to mark the beginning of the existing building.

Pastor Bill Thornton, dignitaries, and various leadership teams inaugurated the 890 square metre expansion which will consist of an enlarged kitchen, lobby, a new conference room, and multipurpose sport/activity room. Over the last ten years, FBC has raised $1.4M towards the anticipated $2.7M cost. The groundbreaking ceremony concluded with the congregation and guests standing inside the perimeter lines of the addition while a picture was taken from a drone. The hymn that was sung echoed the purpose of the build: “To God be the Glory.”
FBC has many reasons to praise God. Other recent highlights include:
  • Pastor Bill & Heather hosted a dessert night in their home for twenty-two newcomers.
  • The Membership hired a new part-time Director of Family Ministries.
  • The church received eighteen new attendees into Membership.
Join me in praying for Bill and his team at FBC as they anticipate all that God has in store.
